We have two stud males and can also offer stud services.
With the purchase of every alpaca we offer a full 24 hour after sale service, transport for alpacas or other animals, vaccinations, toe trimming, halter training or livery.
Alpaca Information
Alpacas are from the camelid family and originate from Peru.
Alpacas have a lifespan of approximately 20 years.
Alpacas require vacinating and worming every six months and shearing once a year.
Alpacas can be kept 4-5 per acre and require shelter from wind, rain and sun but do not require stabling.
Alpacas are bred for their fleece which is softer than cashmere. The fleece can be a variety of 22 different colours
An alpacas gestation period is eleven and a half months, they produce one baby per year which is called a cria.
Alpacas make excellent pets and they are very gentle and inquisitive. They can be halter trained very easily and are very good with children.
Alpacas make excellent guards for chickens, ducks etc and farmers often use them with sheep to protect the new born lambs from foxes.
Pygmy GoatsWe are members of The Pygmy goats club and have a herd of 18 breeding females and three stud males. All goats are pedigree and we often have kids for sale that can be horned or disbudded on request. (With or without horns) They make wonderful pets and are very popular. Pygmy goats are very adaptable animals and will happily fit at the end of a large garden but to keep Pygmy goats on any land you must have a CPH number. All movements require a movement licence. If you require any further information on this please contact us.
Pygmy Goat Information
Pygmy Goats orinate from South Africa.
Entire males do not make good pets because as they grow they may become aggresive and very smelly. Castrated males do make very good pets.
Pygmy goats hate rain and require shelter.
They are fed small amounts of concentrated food and also require hay and vegetables (i.e carrotts, cabbage, apple etc)
They require vacinating and worming every six months and their hooves need triming every six to eight weeks.
Pygmy goats are escape artist so good fencing is essential
