Salisbury Cathedral

Salisbury Cathedral

Amongst medieval English cathedrals Salisbury is unique. It was built within one century with no large later additions. The building itself is a testimony to the faith and practical skills of those who erected it.

It is the Cathedral Church of the Salisbury diocese and is therefore the Mother Church of several hundred parishes in Wiltshire and Dorset.

Salisbury has Britain’s tallest spire, the world’s best preserved original Magna Carta and Europe’s oldest working clock. All of these can be seen on a tour with one of the volunteer guides.
