Concorde at Filton
Concorde 216 - Alpha Foxtrot - made its final flight home on
26th November 2003 to its temporary home ’Concorde at Filton’. Local
organisations and companies are in the process of creating of a major aviation
heritage centre, where Concorde 216 will be kept under cover as the centre-piece
of displays and exhibits that will detail the story of the areas long-standing
role in the world of aerospace.
British Airways has loaned Concorde 216 to Airbus UK, who fought
hard to bring the aircraft back to Filton. The Bristol Aero Collection which is
a local aviation preservation charity that looks after much of Filton’s aviation
heritage at Kemble, is managing Concorde at Filton through its enthusiastic team
and hard working volunteers.
