The Bishop’s Palace in Wells is a most beautiful venue to hold your wedding reception.  When you hire the Bishop’s Palace you gain exclusive access to the tranquil setting of the gardens as well as the medieval banqueting facilities.  From the moment your wedding car enters the Palace grounds via the drawbridge and gatehouse you will perceive that this is a venue with a difference.  Your guests will appreciate the totally private environment for your entire reception including use of the attractive gardens for photographic opportunities. 

The wedding breakfast is held in the Undercroft restaurant for up to 120 people, with coffee and cake normally being served upstairs in the Long Gallery.  This allows your guests to enjoy this magnificent room and when you return to the Undercroft, it will have been prepared for the evening ahead. We offer a wide range of menus from a presentation buffet to a six course wedding breakfast.  Our facilities are fully licensed. We are able to offer pre-reception drinks and canapés outside in our gardens in the summer or by a roaring log fire in the medieval entrance hall in the winter.
